Maroney, is tough as nails.
Dare I say it? on this board?
On some runs it almost looks like every one is standing still. Maroney's cut back ability and agility really punishes team that jam receivers and play man coverage often. |
Re: Maroney, is tough as nails.
Right from the first drive maroney got the screen play busted a huge gain 33 yards. Near the end of the first quarter he almost got a touch down all on his own by moving a huge pile. On that 3rd and 1 the jaguars loaded 7 in the box and maroney still managed to rampage.
At the begining of the 3rd his huge run on the shot gun draw play, and same with the draw play from the shotgun postion in the 3rd for anther huge gain down the sideline. In the future we will see him break more of these runs for touchdowns. Maroney didnt loose steam in the 3rd quarter at all, some of his best runs made in the 3rd quarter. |
Re: Maroney, is tough as nails.
Remember all those Maroney is a bust threads... as many of us suspected Maroney was saved for the end of the marathon, when he is really needed as a weapon.. he was a beast last night.

Re: Maroney, is tough as nails.
he could have easily got 2 more tds last night, 4 tds total if you ask me.
That is why Iam thinking he can set records in the the superbowl game. Most rushing tds, 5 rushing tds? those shotgun draw plays really open the field for maroney to kick it on to high gear then the defense fears. |
Re: Maroney, is tough as nails.
By my count he danced once, but the O-line gave him nowhere to go. Other than that, he hit the holes hard and lowered his pads once he made contact.
All in all, you have to be impressed with his performance. |
Re: Maroney, is tough as nails.
Poor Maroney espn keeps using his rookie pitcure when discussing his big game. You know the one where he has his eye brows shaved...ouch

If not in the playoffs, I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of that next year as his blocking ability improves and he's on the field for more passing plays... |
