Penalties vs. Preparedness
I thought the penalties really reflected a lack of preparedness of the team -- I'm not counting any PI calls as they are what they are:
Brown's illegal touching on the punt Mankins unnecessary roughness Branch and Light's false starts ...and frankly Wilfork was lucky he didn't get nailed for popping Sanchez after the whistle. The Jets had three penalties all game -- a false start, a face mask, and the celebration/taunting penalty. Pats just didn't seem to have their heads in the game. Maybe too much rust from the bye week for the young guns, but there's no excuse for Mankins/Branch/Light/Wilfork (almost). |
