Saving Stallworth for later?
it was pretty obvious today that josh was calling weird things and they were messing around in the second half. i went back and watched tape of the last few games, and noticed that every time i had a view of stallworth, he was open. just about every play he has single coverage, never with safety help. including this miami game, he was open much much more than moss or anyone else was. i know bill is a sneaky bastid, and i know that brady is not one to pass up a wide open reciever twenty yards downfield, even if he is forcing to moss lately.
are they not passing to him on purpose, so that defenses will overlook him in the playoffs? i think this is very possible, especially after what i saw brady and josh do today. |
Re: saving stallworth for later?
That is exactly what I was saying in the Gaffney for #2 thread. I don't know if they are saving him but I also noticed he's been wide open alot the last couple of weeks but Brady goes elsewhere especially on the deep bombs to moss the last to weeks and even on a couple of passes to Welker this week.

Re: saving stallworth for later?
While it would be nice to believe that, I'd consider the whole "we won't use him at all during the season then he will be our secret weapon in the Playoffs" is a little too conspiracy-theory for me.
If he is open, not getting the ball, and completions aren't being made elsewhere, something is up. What? Your guess is as good as mine, conspiracy and all =). |

Brady is the greatest, the offense is the best ever and we must be reaching for things to complain about but if Moss is getting that much attention someone must be open. The 50+ yard bombs are great but nothing is better than a 12 play 75 yard drive with passes to 6 different receivers. Against a certain Cover-2 defense it is very hard to make plays deep, most drives takes a series of shorter completions. On the plus side on one of the first drives I was impressed that Stallworth actually caught the ball with his hands instead of clunking it off his body. |
