Reasons that it is a 'MUST' win game against the Colts
 

At 7-2 there is no real crucial do or die game,but this week presents a special couple of reasons why the Patriots MUST beat the Colts this weekend.

1) THE OBVIOUS .....7-2 to get to 8-2 and at least a tie for the best record would be nice and send the Colts to 6-4 and fight for the South Division lead.

2) THE STREAK ..... Tom Brady would tie the hated Brett Favre at 25 Consecutive Home Games Winning Streak

3) THE 'OTHER' BEST QB IN THE NFL ..... We already lost our last home game to two hated things that most of us dislike as a Pats fan 1) Eric Mangini 2) The New York Jets - The HC and team both beat us in that miserable swampy mess in the late season of 2006,the last home loss with Brady starting before this winning streak and we can't let another dislikable duo 1) Peyton Manning 2) Bill Polian's Colts end this streak,we just can't let the Colts be the team that ends it.

Any other reasons we HAVE to beat the Colts this weekend other than my offerings?

Because the Pats are still in a tie for the AFC East and are really in 2nd because they lose the tie breaker. This should be the number one reason.

The only must win games are playoff games. Edit: or win and get in games.

If they revive themselves and come alive, then it will have been good to have beaten them for the tie-breaker. If they are imploding, then it will be good to step on their necks while they are writhing on the ground.

Plus, Colts fans are so goofy. Hard to take them seriously, but when they win it is like playing LIFE with your six year old nephew and he wins and is sooooo proud of himself and can't stop bragging. It's cute, but tiresome after a while. Better to just shut them up from the get-go.

...because the Jets are at home against Houston, who has fallen apart, so we likely need to win just keep tied (ignoring tiebreakers, since we play them again).

I said this last week and I'm not changing. I think that the Colts game is/was more important than the Steelers game, but neither are critical or must wins.

The reason that the Colts game is more important is the playoffs, if both team make it. We would have been better off playing in Pitt rather than Indy. The Colts are built to be in a climate controlled stadium. They are not built to play in the elements in January.

Also Polian cannot play with the heat and noise if they play outside of the Lube. So it is a little more important than Pitt.

The only "must" win games on our schedule right now are the Jets,Fins, & Bills, IMVHO.

Mostly I think unless the Jets implode, the AFCE is going to require a 12-4 minimum to win. And even then, it may come to a tiebreaker against the Jets which means every AFC game is slightly more important. If we lose that tiebreaker, there are likely going to be an overly large amount of teams fighting over the wildcard spots and I expect those to also be chosen by tiebreakers.
