$227 million in 2010 federal election spending
according to an ABC News report Wednesday, more than 230 independent groups have shelled out at least $227 million in 2010 federal election spending.
Now lets do the Math.... there are 300 Million americans, half are registered voters, and half(ish) of those actually vote. $227 Million in funding to buy 124 Million votes. If each of us paid a dollar or more donation to a national fund to vote, could we eliminate corporate financing of elections? Politicians could then use the public fund to run campaigns. I would gladly give more money to ensure that a company, or 527 group had no influence on my public election. After all, a company doesnt have a vote? |

I'd give $5 if I did not have to see anymore of these ridiculous TV ads.

they are all full of $#!t, on almost every level. Imagine having your vote be what a candidate was trying to get, not the next donation? |
