Pats unsportly against Bills?

I was watching the Pats - Bills game on danish television, and when we were as far as i recall ahead 35 - 10 and 49 - 10. Belichick decided to go on a 4 and 1, and then the danish commentators believed that it was unsportly, when we were so far ahead. It was not necessary to grind the Bills so much down in the ground, and we could have taken a 3 and out the 2 times and had gone for a fieldgoal. In this to cases I will say that I agree with the commentators, it really was not necessary and we just could have taken the 3 fieldgoal points. But thats just my oppinion and the commentators

Are you saying "run it up" 3 more points with a FG, or give the opposition a chance to stop you (with no points) on a 4th-down conversation play which is about a 50/50 proposition play.

No offense to Danish commentators, but they don't know what they are talking about.

4th and 1 isn't a sure thing. If they stop then they get the ball back. Kicking a 3 point field goal is adding another 3 points onto a lopsided score. So, using your logic, that's unsportsmanlike.

At least with a 4th and 1 you run the ball and if you make it you probably will run much more..that takes time off the clock so the game ends sooner.

Nej, det var ikke "unsportsmanlike" og Jens Knudsen er en Bills fan.

Here's the answer for all of the complaints...forfeit!

plain and simple

Forfeit and save your dignity if you don't want to play against the first team.

They didn't exactly run the ball on those 4th and 1s...

I don't realy regard that as running it up, though, I just think BB treated the game as a 0-0 match up until we were ahead 56-10 and the starters were out. Make no mistake, we could've scored 80 if we wanted to run it up.

he he the commentators from the states properly knows a bit more, when they talk about football then the danish. Madden should know he he with so many years as a player, coach and commentator. And it is the first year that they show NFL on that channel in Denmark. But they still call them NFL experts !!! :D

Pats are in a no win situation in that scenario as Parcells said. Someone will be complaining. Christ, we had an undrafter Naval academy rookie grinding it out for good yards vs the bills. I wont even listen to these dumb thoughts anymore. BB had a lot of praise for D Jauron and was not doing anything to intentionally embarrass them...
