Replay Challenges
BB (I think it was BB) said something once -- wishing that something didn't happen isn't a reason to throw the challenge flag.
Norv really could have taken that to heart last night. Two idiotic challenges, and he could have used each of those time outs, not to mention the extra challenge on the interception that almost turned the game. Didn't matter in the end, because of AV's miss, but watching Norv last night it was clear what happens when you coach with your heart instead of your head. Our coach doesn't do that, usually. Everyone this morning is talking about that simulated snap count and Dungy using the time out after the call. Did any of this matter? Everyone is acting like the Colts were going run a play there on 4th and short. No way. They either were going to call time out or take a delay. If they called a time out, they would have used it anyway, and AV still might have shanked it. If they took a delay penalty, it's the SAME 5 yard penalty as they got called for, and AV misses. I don't think the extra time out wins the game for them. |

I admire Norv for his consistency, as in: my consistent amazement that he's an NFL head coach. ;)

Re: Replay Challenges
I think the second half catch was a phony, but the challenge was dumb because he covered it well enough that you could never get a clear shot to overturn it.
And that is the point. |

All this talk about the timeout is really just crap to shield Dungy from the fact that he is a "ball-less wonder" also. He messed with the rythm of the game by arguing some stupid bs. I mean, what did he want them to do? "oh, sorry mr dungy, you are always right, so we must be wrong about this if you say so." If the colts just run the damn ball, they probably get a td. If they just kick it, it goes through. But, the statesman Dungy has to pretend it is the united nations and he is fighting for the children of Mambazolaqui. Talk about a time he should have been the silent leader. (Please be quiet - edited)! |
