Has Mayo improved?

This was the roundtable discussion on Mohegan Sun Sportstonight last night. The prevailing opinion was that Mayo got a pass last season because of the injury issues, but that his play this year is not much better. Everyone on the panel agreed that he was a "solid" player, but that the early hopes that he would become the next Ray Lewis or even Patrick Willis have dimmed.

Agree or Disagree ?

He's been pretty invisible the last two weeks.

Who thought Mayo was going to turn into Ray Lewis or Pat Willis?

If anything, he projected as a more Al Wilson type than anything else.

He wasn't invisible against the Bengals.

Didn't notice at all. Chung stole the show.

Agreed. Compared to the other linebackers, TBC has applied some pressure in the pass rush ( even seems capable of setting the edge against the run), and Guyton seems talented as a nickel and dime coverage LB, but other than that Mayo's performance to date seems well ahead of Spikes and Ninkovich though, correct ? Or am I wrong ?

Second on the team with 18 tackles.

Barring injury he's on track for a career high in tackles, as well as his third straight 100+ tackle season.

Interesting that you could miss a player who posted 12 tackles. Oh well.

If I'm not mistaken, at lot of the tackles Mayo had in week 1 were assisted when Chung was already there. Maybe it's just me, but my eyes locked on Chung when he started racking up tackles.

We all know that Ninkovich is horrible and once Cunningham starts to make an impact, Ninkovich will be sitting on the sidelines until he is cut.

And I don't know what the hell Spikes was doing in coverage against Keller last weekend.
