Pats rank 32nd in Redzone Defense..
I did not start this thread to be a troll, I just couldn't believe it when I read it, considering how dominant they have been this year, now in all fairness the article says this is based on 18 trips teams have been in the redzone, now I don't know how that compares to other teams but only 18 trips for teams in the redzone? That to me seems pretty low. I have no idea where the Colts stand on this, they might be 31 for all I know..

Whenever you come in a and start a negative post on another teams fan site, pointing out a negative by said team, by definition. YOU ARE TROLLING. You may not by intending to be, but you are. |

i think it is a rule, after spygate they said every time an opposing team gets in the red zone..pats must let them score. have always been bend but dont break defence. think alot has to do with the score of the games
so far it hasnt been a problem. new rule coming...opposing coaches will have a red and white flag. white flag will be used for surrendering. |

If someone thinks a poster is trolling, report it to the mods using the little triangle button and let them deal with it.
Anyway, we know Belichick has been cackling with glee over this all season long. Something he can berate his team about. |
Re: Pats rank 32nd in Redzone Defense..
For those who want to talk football, I'd like to know why as well? The Pats obviously have a great D.
Do the Pats go into a different scheme when in the red zone? Is it because the games are already in hand, so they're playing a prevent at this point? It seemed a strange stat to read. |
Re: Pats rank 32nd in Redzone Defense..
On a serious note, it would be interesting to see when those 8 scores in 18 attempts occurred. I suspect that a fairly high percentage occurred when the Pats had a substantial lead and were giving ground slowly a means of bleeding clock.
For example, against the Skins they had a 52-0 lead and then gave up a TD. That's one. Against the Fins they had a 42-7 lead and then gave up two TDs. That's two more of the 8. Not sure that late TDs with a big lead prove all that much about the Pats' Red Zone D. |
