I guess that bruised knee was worse than people thought. If it remains this painful for a long time it could definitely severely impact his playing ability - and by this report, perhaps even indefinitely. Big blow to the Colts.

About 17 months ago I incurred blunt force trauma to my knee and ended up badly bruising the underside of my kneecap (my two bones hit so hard they bruised eachother) -- something that was shown on an MRI. The doctor said it would take 18 months to recover from, and literally only recently have I been able to do things without it hurting at all. The first few months when stuff pressed against it, it hurt so badly that I almost would fall over in pain. After that it was sore a lot and if hit moderately hard would be very painful. Eventually it was just sore, and now it's fine.

If his injury is like that (and to be honest it sounds worse, as mine has gone away after 18 months, and they're saying his may never), it might be challenging for him to play on it (especially this week, but this whole season perhaps) even with shots for pain.

We knew it had to be more than just a bruise. Not good news for us. From the description of your injury - reallllly not good news for us.

someone on a colts board is freaking out about this news in typical fashion..."who the hell is the source! this is crazy, no way it's true...blah blah"

too bad to hear about Marvin, hate on the colts all you want but the man has been nothing but a professional and one of the best WRs of all time....no ill will here.

That sucks for him big time. He's a good player and it sucks to see him, in all liklihood, forced out under terms that are not his own. The man is 35 (I think) and has had a good career.

Also, AFAIK, trainers don't like to put shots in knees, so that might not be a great option.

Too bad for him. At 35 we knew the end had to be coming sooner rather than later. My being a Patriots' fan aside, they're better off giving him some time off and hoping he's ready for the end of the season and playoffs than playing him 9 more regular season weeks.

From the sounds of it he may, sadly have to consider retirement? He's no youngster as it is...

this sucks.

we both lost key parts of our offense today. Harrison and Morris. I'm hard pressed to say who is more important.

Here's hoping we both stay healthy on Sunday. Don't want the Steelers or Chargers vulturing up on us after we knock each other down.

You seriously think it's a toss-up as to whether Harrison or Morris is more important to their respective offense? Our back-up RB to their HOF WR?

True, I'll take that back. He's definitely more important, but they've been winning without him this year.

Honestly, thinking it through. Losing Harrison might be lights out for them this year.
