I like the timing change - not to thrilled with the draft starting 3 hours later though; although it does work out a little better as I sometimes have kids soccer games Saturday morning. Still, waiting until Noon (I live in CA) isn't too exciting to me.

Even less chance of a Day One linebacker now.;)

I'd personally like to see a draft that began at 10pm ET on Friday night and went until it ended. A night draft is the only chance for a family guy like me to see the whold thing unfold. Since our coaching staff never sleeps, it would probably favour them too.

Speeding it up is like taking a bandage off quickly instead of slowly, guessing the Patriots draft is torture plain and simple.

Like a true maniac I love the misery and can't wait until April.

WE should rejoice. We will be able to see who the Pats pick with their top 5 pick all the quicker. BB will then declare to Goodell to screw it and then trade back and get his 2 - 1st day picks after all.

Saturday will go faster which could be good.

But, draft sunday is going to be crazy now.

You got that right.

I wonder if these changes will impact the frequency of draft-day deals.

I thought a better system would be:
12 minutes between picks for Round 1;
10 minutes for Round 2;
7 for Round 3.

One thing this impacts is the draft strategy in day 2. Most teams regroup and kind of reforumulate their plans after day 1 is over depending on if they got the players/positions they wanted. I really love these moves in both time start and length of the draft. This is one of the few things I like that Goodell is doing.

Does anyone else think its possible that the 49ers will continue to suck so much that we will end up with a top 5 pick.

And then Belichick will turn around and trade it for 2 late 1st round picks.

That would really stick it up Goodell's ass, haha.
