Re: BB's take on the whole "running up the score" BS
I want the Pats to say eff-you to every team they face this year, and I don't feel bad about it.

Makes perfectly good sense to me.When I was watching the game and the Dolphins scored 21 points in four minutes,I was glad to see Brady back in the game.

Situation...... Up by 28 points with ten minutes left, the game seems well in hand. Up by 21 points after with ten minutes left, the game still seems in hand but another quick score would make it more nerve racking than needed. Seriously, I can picture the fourth quarter going VERY badly if Cassell stayed in. The media really needs to get a life. |
Re: BB's take on the whole "running up the score" BS
And what is this BS for scoring at the end of the first half.
When have you ever seen the media try to get a coach to be apologetic for scoring in the FIRST HALF. I STRESS THE FIRST HALF. It boggles my mind. Of course you play to score in the first half. I say THE FIRST HALF much like Allen Iverson says PRACTICE. We're talking about the FIRST HALF. Not the fourth quarter. These media pundits are really stretching for something to write about. WHATEVER ONE TEAM DOES IN ONE HALF OF FOOTBALL the OTHER TEAM COULD POTENTIALLY DO IN THE NEXT HALF. YOU NEVER TAKE YOUR FOOT OF THE GAS IN THE FIRST HALF. THAT IS JUST BASIC FOOTBALL. HELLO, MCFLY, YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. |

Thanks for posting this!
I hope we can forward this to the media experts so that they do not hasten to conclude that all our actions are eff-you to the league. Not that I am concerned about that image but this might help some of the journalists - who are convinced that they must get a full explanation at a press conference from a NFL coach who has just finished a game - to understand that the coach might have solid reasons for the actions on field. |
Re: BB's take on the whole "running up the score" BS
Great interview. Did anyone see the garbage on Around the Horn yesterday? JA Adande was seriously blowing a gasket, going on and on about how dumb it was for Brady to go back into the game after the INT, that he couldve gotten injured, etc. Absolutely ridiculous. How dare a starting QB play in the 4th quarter of a regular season game?? It's so risky!!

John Dennis went on a rant about it for hours this morning too. In the end who cares, if Brady got hurt then maybe it's a topic but until then I say to the media (Please be quiet - edited).

I liked seeing Monday Night Countdown with Parcells and Ditka. They both kind of had that "these guys are idiots" look about those that questioned whether BB ran it up. Amazing how professional coaches seem to understand the "you don't like it then stop them" mentality that the media can't grasp.
