The Republicans are just so much better at this stuff, which is why Democrats should never try to retaliate to MoveOn ads by trying to play the political game the Republicans have perfected.

I'm pretty sure in order to have a straw man argument, you need the "argument" part. I am making none, except to say that auctioning the letter was a smart political move by Rush, while condemning him was a dumb move by Democrats.
