Rich Gannon is a pretty good TV analyst

Rich Gannon is informative, knows when to step in and say something, and he usually says something relatively interesting or educational during the game. This guy is way better than most QB-turned-announcers, with the possible exception of Phil Simms. All the other former QB's are pretty bad color analysts (like Troy 'robot' Aikman)

Yeah, and he points out more than just the vanilla stuff. He talked a bit about coverages, which was good to see.

His partner and play by play man Kevin Harlan is very under rated and calls a great game as well.

I liked Gannon, too. And not for the first time. He does a good job.

Who was it on the very first replay of VW knocking Losman on the knee
who said quietly, "That seemed intentional" ?

Wow. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. To me, listening to Gannon was torturous. He was so busy filling the air with long-winded emptiness, that he barely paid attention to the game. For example, how was it that neither announcer said anything about the Pats going for it on 4th and 6 until after it happened?

I also didn't appreciate his apparent editorial stance (e.g., it bothered me when Gannon said that Wilfork intentionally hit Losman's knee).

He really picked up on the Pats strategy going inside with the run after Pos broke his arm. It may have been obvious but some of these guys (Not Gannon) are clueless. I liked the broadcast for once. ANYTHING but the ESPN crew.

It looked like Wilf DID slash out with the elbow. A reasonable opinion, not at direct odds with the video.

When he compared the play to Von Oelhoffen hitting Carson Palmer, he strained the bounds of "reasonable". In my opinion.

He also miscalled the hit on Scobell later in the game, saying the Pat had hit him on the knee. Too bad the hit was to Scobell's left hip and Scobell was favoring his right knee.
