Being hated makes winning a LOT more fun

Bear with me...

I support Manchester United, who are my hometown soccer team. I have spent the last 15 years (i.e. since they started winning, although I have been for a fan for the past 25 or more) listening to accusations that they are arrogant, cheat, are dirty and have glory hunting fans (which is partly true). Trust me, winning and being able to give the finger to everyone else is the best thing in the world.

The same also applied to the England Rugby team of 2003, which had a reputation for being boring and "unethical". Again, beating Australia (with practically the last kick of the game) to win was f***ing fantastic. EVERYBODY hates England Rugby.

Embrace it, lads and ladesses. Stick one finger (or two) up at the rest of the NFL every time when we win.

There's a great song that Millwall soccer club sings to the tune of Sailing by Rod Stewart: "We are Millwall, we are Millwall. No one likes us, we don't care".

Well said. I will relish beating the snot out of the rest of the NFL this year, and getting SB #4. The chip on the Pats shoulder will be as big as a California redwood.

As a West Ham fan, i will ignore what you said about Millwall, scum :)

But i totally agree with you, i hope we go 16-0, and get another SB win just to stick it to all the bastards who doubted us.

And the same can be said about the England national football (soccer) team. They play boring, awful football, their coach is a registered clown, and many of their fans are rightfully labelled as the scum of the earth. However when they beat Argentina in the 90th minute to win the World Cup it was f***ing fantast..... Ohhh wait a minute. :D :p

I don't like being the Raiders East, but I do admit that if the Pats win the Superbowl, I would give anything to be up on that podium with Goodell and Belichick. Imagine that conversation!

By the way, I really likes what this story has done for my icon.

I don't know, I'm kinda liking this new persona. The goody two shoes act was getting a little boring and hard to defend as each little thing happened (Moss, Harrison, etc).

Being bad boys will be fun. Gillette, the house of horrors. And when NE comes to town, bring in your women and children.

Yeah, this combined with Moss' big day has me really feeling like a Patriot right now. :rocker:
