Cassel in the doghouse?
Looks like Matty is in BB's doghouse for a little bit. He got his only job, holding the ball, taken away from him from Hanson. Then, he didn't even get the nod to go in and kneel the ball at the end of the game...Tough love from BB?

Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
His hand got injured on the snap.

Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
noticed that too, but i'm sure that was just BB sending a message about mistakes or as Sieglo says above, that his hand got injured.

Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
If you watch the replay, the pinky on his left hand got bent back awkwardly on the snap. Jammed at the least, but it might be broken? Not sure

Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
Interesting, didn't see him injure his finger, guess that could play a factor into the decision too...

Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
Welker sat for a bit. Bill will send a message. As for Gutierrez getting the knee, so did Vinny last season. That's kind of a 3rd QB job.
I doubt he would make that change after one mistake though (although you gotta wonder what else happened with Baugher). It's repeat offenders that usually get his ire up. And remember, Cassel was one of his off season award winners. |
Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
Does anyone know if Hanson has been a regular holder over his career? He looked good.
I don't know why but I've always felt a little shaky with Cassel as the holder. And that dropped FG really was the biggest mistake in what was otherwise a blowout. |
Re: Cassel in the doghouse?
Sitting on the bench is what Cassell does best.
Even at a charity flag football game this summer he spent most of the time on the bench. |
