OT: Raiders cut Gabriel
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders have released WR Doug Gabriel.
Gabriel was in line to make $1.7 million in base salary this season, far too much for a fourth receiver at best. Mike Williams, Travis Taylor, and Johnnie Lee Higgins slide up the depth chart. Williams seems like a strong bet to see plenty of playing time when Oakland is in the red zone. Gabriel should get picked up, but has proven he isn't starting material. |
Re: OT: Raiders Cut Gabriel
Let's hope some rival signs him and leaves any Pats cut alone on the infamous SHADOW ROSTAH!!!

Re: OT: Raiders Cut Gabriel
Tim Dwight and Jerome Wiggins were cut from their respective teams as well.

Why did the Pats acquire Moss, Stallworth, and Welker when they could have Gabriel, T.Dwight, and D.Terrell

Missing 3-4 weeks pulling a hamstring while jogging half speed? Guess the "old Randy Moss" really is back. I was hoping for a new & improved Randy Moss. Does he even makes the team at this point? |

And who knows, if Terrell had been kept, maybe he could have rebuilt his rapport with TB during the course of the season, and the FO wouldn't have had to give Cleveland their 2006 5th-rounder for Andre Davis. And speaking of wasted 5th-round draft picks, I really hope that the flaw in the personnel department that led to the Gabriel trade has been internally acknowledged, and fixed. And Moss still has to prove to me that he has changed his lazy, selfish ways. |
