Has Kevin Faulk surpassed Dave Meggett...

At this point, in terms of sheer value to the team in various roles, I think Kevin Faulk has gone beyond what Meggett meant to the Giants in the '80s.

Agree or disagree?

Agree. Faulk is more valuable offensively while Meggett was a more dangerous PR/KR, twice leading the league in PR yds. Faulk is a better between the tackles runner and also bounces it outside nicely. He lines up wide and in the slot creating mismatches vs safeties and linebackers. Meggett, although a dangerous threat offensively was not as versatile and not a natural receiver like Faulk. Faulk always seems to catch the ball cleanly. Although Meggett had good years with the Giants, his two best came in 1995 and 1996 with the Pats. Faulk is a better blocker as well. If you look up their career stats an argument can be made for both but where Faulk gains a big edge is in the leadership dept. Meggett was a questionable character at best, always getting himself in trouble with the law. Faulk has been a member of 3 SB winning teams and Meggett 1.

PS - You mean 90's not 80's.

People forget how good he was in college.

"Finished fourth in NCAA history and first in SEC history with 6,833 all-purpose yards ... SEC record was previously held by Georgia legend Hershel Walker "

As someone who is a longtime Pats and G-men fan, I would agree that Faulk is a better runner and pass catcher. However, Meggett is a better STer as a return man for both punts and kickoffs. In his prime, DM just had an elusiveness that was unbelieveable. Faulk is close, but not quite at that level. Both are very good as it relates to picking up the blitz.

No question KF is 100 times better person.

Dave Meggett was the all purpose, 3rd down, draw play running, screen recieving, blitz pickup, kick returning back of some mighty fine teams of the 90's, one of which even participated in a super bowl.

Kevin Faulk is the all purpose, 3rd down, draw play running, screen recieving, blitz pickup, kick returning back of The Team Of The 00's, the Dynasty that has won 3 Super Bowls and counting.

Tell me which is greater.

After seeing those stats it's obviously no contest who was the better QB. A 135.4 rating is almost unconcious.

Hell of an argument, as usual.
