Boston Media's Anti-Kraft Agenda
The more local coverage I watch and read, the more I'm starting to realize that many in the Boston media are using the Moss signing to promote an anti-Bob Kraft agenda.
All I hear is that the Moss acquisition totally goes against the Kraft's "team of character" mantra. I follow the team pretty closely and I would tell you that the whole "team of character" ideal was a creation of the local media rather than that of the team. Early in the Pats successes, I recall the local media milking the crap out of what a selfless group o guys these were. Which was the truth and maybe by design, but I never recall the team or Belichick prmoting that as a philosophy. Belichick would always say that they would get players that would fit in there system and be productive. The most important facets being intelligence, talent and a love for football.. I think hate from the Kraft family has been brewing for long time, with many folks it began with Parcell's departure and grew with the botched attempts to build the stadium in Southie and CT. With much team success in the recent past, few (Borges) have had ammunition to beat on Kraft and the team like they would like too. But with no rings in the past two years, BB's marital issues, the Branch situation etc., they started get courage to do some bashing. That window began to close quickly with a successful free agency campaign The Moss signing gives them th opportunity to continue what they started and more importantly find a new avenue to go after the Krafts. Well, at least thats what I'm seeing. Kraft, his family and team epitomize everything the liberal Boston media hates and he has been a long treasured target. |

It will change when he starts catching passes for touchdowns... The media is on a Anti-Patriot HATE right now, they will get over it when the Pats start winning...

Ummmm, the cave dwellers of Southie and their media offspring (hello McDonough father and son, etc.) have been their biggest local yokel enemies. The WEEI and radio sports hecklers tend not be "liberals". Those folks ain't flaming liberals. |

You're exactly right. Especially since Kraft is a liberal. If anything, the Patriots are the most Socialist team in the NFL. Look at their coach: Wesleyan? Democrat? Liberal Jewish owner. More balanced salary structure than any other team in the league, they heavily promote a "team" philosophy. No gouging of the taxpayers for a stadium, or fans for seat licenses, redistribute their profit to their poorer teams in the league. Rush Limbaugh attacks the Patriots as being Communist, or at least he did when they came out as a team in 2001 against the Rams. I'd say that if Lenin were alive today, the Patriots would be his favorite American football team. |

Re: Boston Media's Anti-Kraft Agenda
If you like what the Kraft organization has done and did over the weekend - then do as I did today.
508-543-8200 Give a call over there and let them know - I left a message with Stacey James today and told him how, as a 35 year season ticket holder, I couldn't be happier. I went on about how I love Meriweather and of course the Moss acquisition, not to mention all that has transpired over the weekend. I explained how upset I get with the negative media in this town. He actually called me back and he told me appreciated my call and support very much. He said he forwarded my voice mail to Mr Kraft as he really cares for the "fans of New England" They really do care about their fans and supporters very much. |

Sideshow Dan is a complete joke.
(is this my 2000th post? if so, i can't believe i am making it about curly boy) |
Re: Boston Media's Anti-Kraft Agenda
It's funny. You read San Diego papers and they are pro-Charger, anti-Patriots. Indy papers are anti-Patriots, ditto NY papers.
So I guess the Boston media just makes it unanimous. That's fine. When the team says everyoen was against us, they often mean our own media. I still remember Seymour shouting words to that effect from a duck boat after SB XXVIII. |
Re: Boston Media's Anti-Kraft Agenda
The media loves to paint Krafts as the bad guys but their darlings, the Sox, have brought in the following with a rap sheet either on or off of the field:
Manny Carl Everett Julian Tavarez David Wells Pedro Martinez Julio Lugo JD Drew The list goes on. They are beyond reproach according to many. Hell, I'm a Sox season ticket holder, a huge fan. However, the ball washing of the Sox and the hand wringing over the Pats has gotten to be a bit much very quickly. Where is the outrage over the Sox? What about the Celtics with guys like Telfair? They were lauded by many for cutting him at the first sign of trouble, the same thing the Pats would do with Moss. However, the Moss deal is some how worse? Boston media wants to tear the pats down for making their job too difficult. They never gave the media anything to write about. Now that they have it, they are ripping them every chance they get. |
