What Carolina said about the Pats?
 
Thiis a a Neutral city so I find it interesting. I still would have liked to grab a LB on day one. The Sports today said:


The Pats got the player they wanted and also got another 1st for next year.They are the only team with 2 picks next year; the rich get richer.

And next year when we trade our pick for a future first rounder, they can write the same thing.

Look at the Patriots, they have multiple first rounders next year, the rich get richer.
We can actually use this strategy into eternity. Let's always have multiple first round picks.

The great thing about that strategy is, let's say down the road, a Lawrence Taylor type is in the draft, we will always have the ammunition to get him if we need to.

Exactly. And each year we'll be picking up an extra "interest" pick, such as this year's 4th rounder. It's nice having a first in the bank.
