What are either of our 1sts worth?

A second this year and next - (depending on exact # maybe we toss in a 6th)? Would you like to make that kind of trade adding a pick next year?

NE could get GB's 2nd, 3rd, and 5th for the 28th overall pick. You don't give up a first rounder for a 2007 second, and a 2008 second. NE could give up one of their first rounders for a second this year, and a first next year, that's what they did with the Ravens.

A couple of years ago we traded down from #19 to #37 (may have been #36; we used it pick Eugene Wilson), and got a next-year first from Baltimore in exchange. So if we traded down from #24 to perhaps low 40's, it should be worth a 2008 first.

They're worth what someone is willing to pay.

I know it sounds stupid but it depends on if there's a player someone REALLY wants. What if Lynch is there and a team really wants a RB. Or Olsen at a team really wants the only legit 1st round TE. In cases like that they're worth a mid #1 and a 2008 #1. But if we're trading down just to do it then we'd get less.

http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft...valuechart.asp Both our picks together are worth 1400 points. That is equal to the value of the 8th pick overall. The 24th is worth 740 and the 28th is worth 660. You could get a 2nd and 3rd rounder at around at the 11th pick in the round for the 28th

Absolutely correct. It depends 100% on the demand.

Hope the demand is there....but I would take say the Falcons #44 and a second next year for either pick...

This is faulty thinking. Just because they "did it with the Ravens" doesn't mean they will be able to do it this year.

Also, How do you know that the Pats could get GBs 2nd, 3rd and 5th round pick for the 28th pick? Because some out-dated draft value chart says you could?

The VALUE of the top 16 picks went UP. As did the value of picks 17-32. The picks outside of the 1st round LOST value. All because of the way they changed the signing ability.

That being said, I'd love the Pats to get a 2nd this year and a first next year for #24, but I don't think its going to happen unless its with a team that is desperate. If they could swing a deal with the Cardinals, that would be good.

Also, I think that if they could swing a deal with the Bucs, they could get 2 2nd round picks from the Bucs, THIS YEAR. But, again, it depends on what the Bucs feel is THEIR needs.

Why do people insist on using a draft value chart that is no longer valid because of the change in the lengths of the contracts?

Picks 1-16 are worth more than they were last year. Picks 17-32 are also worth more than they were last year. All the other picks are probably equal to what they were previously.

The deal with the Ravens went down because Baltimore was desperate for a young QB, and Boller was still available.

The guys who might still be around at #24 and merit such a deal include QB Trent Edwards, RB Marshawn Lynch and WR's Ted Ginn and Dwayne Bowe. If a team in the middle of round 2 is desperate at any of those positions, then a deal could go down.
