Plenty of Room For Upgrades
There is plenty of room for upgrades. I have 10 OL's, but one will likely give way to a 3rd QB.

BB and Scott Pioli have always believed in ungrading all 53
roster positions. |
Re: Plenty of Room For Upgrades
I completely agree with the premise, but I'm not going to assume that all of last year's developmental rookies are easily upgradeable. Pierre Woods and LeKevin Smith beat out Mincey and Sullivan, and have had a critical year of seasoning at positions--OLB and NT--that are extremely challenging for rookies to pick up. What's more, those are both pretty thin positions in this draft.

It's probably better to put the ST-oriented guys in with their other positions, as best one can. And I think some of the upgrades could come from cutting ST specialists and replacing them with serious developmental defenders who happen to also play STs. Oh yeah -- Thomas is a gunner, isn't he? |
Re: Plenty of Room For Upgrades
After Welker, I think this team has made enough Free Agency moves. They should extend either Warren or Wilfork now, if possible, and use the remaining funds on their draft picks.

Re: Plenty of Room For Upgrades
#4 cb Gay - I suppose you could upgrade him, but if healthy he's a significant upgrade over what we were throwing out there last year.
#4 s Hawkins - He is actually a very good fourth safety. He got exposed having to start half the year, but he's a good reserve-depth guy. #3 cb scott - another guy who played pretty well. I think Gay as the #3 and Scott as the #4 isn't a bad set of corners. Add an upside rook and we're looking pretty sweet. It's also way to soon to assume Jackson on PUP. Obviously we have positions to upgrade, like somebody else said, BB is looking to upgrade every position. |
Re: Plenty of Room For Upgrades
What about Sammy Morris:confused:
