Speculation: Would Dolphins sign Gay to an offer sheet?
ok, this is PURE speculation, so no thread police. LOL :D
It might happen if we use the poison pill approach. Thoughts? |

we tendered him a 2nd round pick.

A 2nd rounder for Gay?
The Pats would not match and be happy to take the pick. |
Re: Speculation: Would Dolphins sign Gay to an offer sheet?
We'd actually be trading Gay for Welker and moving way up in the 2nd round. I'd be all for this one.

Re: Speculation: Would Dolphins sign Gay to an offer sheet?
so wouldn't that be trading gay and our second for Welker and the Phins 2nd? I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Re: Speculation: Would Dolphins sign Gay to an offer sheet?
If you mean as a retaliation move then I would say no. Word is that the new Dolphin administration is trying to load up on draft picks so I don't think they would be completely crushed if they got another 2nd rounder.
Also remember that our 2nd rounder is near the end of the 2nd round while theirs is near the beginning. Big difference. |
Re: Speculation: Would Dolphins sign Gay to an offer sheet?
I hope someone is dumb enough to sign him. Getting a second rounder would be sweet. However, he will be a Patriot next season and hopefully stay on the field.

Re: Speculation: Would Dolphins sign Gay to an offer sheet?
Ya, BB and Pioli would be doing a lil dance if Miami did that.
I would be shocked if any team gave up a 2 for Gay. He is good, solid depth for us, but not worth a 2 to anyone. |
