Pats sign Sammy Morris
I just read this at Scout.com. I guess we will know soon enough if it's true.

Re: RUMOR: Pats sign Sammy Morris??
Done deal.
Scout.com has learned that RB Sammy Morris has signed a free-agent contract with the New England Patriots. |
Re: RUMOR: Pats sign Sammy Morris??
does anyone know why Sammy would fit here?
can someone provide a link if it's been discussed or just briefly tell me why he's a good fit? I don't get it. I was always under the impression he sucked. I don't know whether that's b/c he played for Miami or not. |

Re: RUMOR: Pats sign Sammy Morris??
he's a good Kevin Faulk/Pass kinda of player. Maroney's the man now. You don't spend a 1st for him to rot on the bench.

it's GO time baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RUMOR: Pats sign Sammy Morris??
He's like Patrick Pass except faster and doesn't fumble as much and catches the ball better. So, not really like Patrick Pass at all. More like a bigger Kevin Faulk, but not as quick or shifty.

Re: RUMOR: Pats sign Sammy Morris??
If I recall correctly he burned us a few times in the 21-0 nightmare game last season. Or was that Travis Minor?

I think that special teams might have something to do with it. He's supposed to be a very good special teams player, and I guess that he might be able to fill that short yardage role. But I think that special teams might be the main motive for this signing, IMHO. |
