Is Willie having concussion problems too?

Someone please explain to me how he made a decision but it wasn't his decision?
No regrets
Former Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest, who stopped by the media center, said he doesn't regret his decision to sign a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns last offseason.

"I had to make the best decision for me and my family, this wasn't my decision," he said. "It was something I had to do, something I was put into a position to do."

Yeah everyone talked about how Willie didn't get signed cause the Pats are cheap, the truth is the Pats decided not to bring Willie back, $ wasn't an issue.

Are you sure about that? I thought the plan was to bring him back but for a lower salary.
I could be wrong, though.
I think we could have used Willy in the Indy game.

No, they never made him an offer, let him know right away though so he could get his name out there and get himself a good deal, which he did.

There was a rumor floating around at the time that Willie was telling teammates after the Denver game that he was going to the Browns.

Regardless, what he said was one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

...and given what the Browns overpaid, it wasn't even necessary for Willie to think twice or bring the offer back to the Pats...

Best to sign that deal from the Browns before they actually had time to reconsider it.

Getting a $12 mil deal like he did in the twilight of his career is like hitting the lottery. I think I can understand why Willie isn't bemoaning the fact that he's not fininshing out his career here for the veteran minimum with no guarantees.

He's putting his great great great great great great grandchildren through college with this contract.

He was only released because he let them know he had no interest in restructuring his contract which he knew had a prohibitive cap number because even though money didn't matter to Willie  he knew that uncle RAC was prepared to pay him double what he was worth because it sucks to be the new HC in Clevelend without a veteran leadership core to back you up. Unfortunately it also sucks to be the lone enforcer on a floundering young team, but the position pays you for what you represented in a championship locker room rather than what you can't necessarily do any longer on the field...in other words resting on your respect laurels.

It ain't fun to play football when you lose every Sunday. Ask Damien Woody and Corey Dillon.

I think what he meant by the statement was that it wasn't his decision, but that the brown's made the decision when offering him such a contract. It was what was best for his family, so he didn't make it for his own personal reasons (staying in NE for far less but having a chance at winning every year)
