Something refreshing about this

Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco had an affair with his former campaign manager's spouse according to the San Francisco Chronicle. When confronted about it, this is what he said:

"I want to make it clear that everything you've read is true and I'm deeply sorry about that. I hurt someone I care deeply about, Alex Tourk and his family and friends, and that is something I'm deeply sad about and sorry for."

Okay, he's still in the wrong, but it's pretty rare to hear a politician speak that honestly.

It is refreshing for people to own up. This guy probably bought himself some forgiveness by doing so, unlike those two idiots who went on TV and acted like complete jerks. This guy was wrong, the mayor, and ultimately he should be held accountable. At least he owned up though, and as a society that appreciates honesty and accountability, the calls for him to quit won't be as many. If those two asswipes had done the same, gone on TV and appologized, and said they didn't ever expect to cause such a problem, I can guarantee you people would have felt bad for them. Instead, they've managed to piss off the other half of the city that didn't give a crap as to who they were. Ah, but they had 40 supporters at court today, so all is ok.

What the hell is he apologizing for, in this screwed up society today what he did was nothing, look what Clinton did to his wife, then he was treated like a hero, even the fool Hillary laughs about it.

WHO GIVES A *****

"Hey Joe, are you taking your wife camping this week"

"No, I'm taking Sydney's wife"

"Oh, Ok is it all right if I take your wife to Disneyland we'll only be gone for three days"?

"Sure Clyde, bring some "porno tapes" with you she loves those things"

"OK Joe, see you when we get home"

"Hey Clyde, I hate Bush"

"Yeah, me too"

I've paid very little attention to this story, but from what I heard on WEEI, it sounds like they're really not to blame. Maybe they deserve a slap on the wrist, but it's the marketing company and Turner tv that should be punished and foot the bill for the city.
