Jackson's High School Coach on Felger

I didn't catch the entire interview just some highlight clips that they played but he coached CJ from his sophomore year on at Hoover High (I believe I remember this correctly). He said CJ had a really hard time picking up their offense the first year, he actually used a phrase similar to "he just checked out" or "shut it down" I cannot remember the exact wording. He went on to say that he came back his Junior year and it was like somebody flipped a switch.

He then described CJ's college years the same way. Freshman year he was a huge disappointment then sophomore year bang.

Here's hoping history repeats itself.

Anybody catch the entire interview?

For some wide receivers in the NFL, the switch does not turn on until year three.

Hopefully he does something year two. I think he can if he can stay healthy

Well, I think the PAts need to sign or draft another wide receiver this year.

did he happen to explain at all why Chad Jackson sucks?

because that would be real interesting to learn about.

Man, do you just hate the Pats or something, or do you just like being the sarcastic class clown?

It sounds like part confidence part the ability to learn new things.

Tipp I agree it takes many receivers until year three. I'd take a 40 catch 600 year Sophomore season where teams at least have to account for him a little, some sort of progress.

Re: Jackson's High School Coach on Felger

His college career certainly followed that path.

People need to realize three important things:

1) He was injured and missed a lot of time including training camp
2) Rookie receivers rarely contribute
3) He came out early, so it wasn't a given he'd produce year 1

He roots against Pat players, probably a Jester fan.
