Charlie Weis to NY Giants?
http://www.nypost.com/seven/12262006...teve_serby.htm
http://www.nypost.com/seven/12262006.../giants074.jpg December 26, 2006 -- THE Giants made a mistake when they passed on Charlie Weis three years ago for Tom Coughlin. At this crossroads in their storied history, they must not make that mistake again. When the Giants begin cleaning their crumbling house, Plan A should be going after Weis the way Lawrence Taylor went after quarterbacks. Plan B, if he is attainable, would be to lure Scott Pioli away from Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick, make him the next GM and tell him to go get Weis out of South Bend, which he would want to do anyway. ..... |
Re: Charlie Weis to NY Giants?
Too bad that Charlie Weis has said that he was going to be staying in South Bend. He just finished building a house and Notre Dame gave him a huge extension. Weis isn't Nick Saban.

Re: Charlie Weis to NY Giants?
The article is based on no facts but it is merely one guys opinion on what they should do.
And this guy needs a realtiy check. Getting Weis and Pioli away from their current jobs is easier said than done. |

"Weis’ deal five years through 2015. By the end of the deal, he will make a reported $30 million-$40 million at Notre Dame" The Giants won't be able to tempt him just with money. The Giants and ND are supposedly his two dream jobs so maybe he would go - but the extension definitely means a lot. |
Re: Charlie Weis to NY Giants?
It's a wet dream article, but were I an NFL owner, I'd first try to hire Pioli and then let him hire my HC. You'd likely get a compatible duo who would work together to staff the team. The RAC situation is the antithethis of this.

Re: Charlie Weis to NY Giants?
I wonder if BB ever wanted the Giants job. Imagine him going head-to-head with Tuna twice a year.
