"NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 17, 2006) -- Both members of Jacksonville 's talented running back tandem were limping after the Jaguars' 24-17 loss to Tennessee in Week 15.

Running back Fred Taylor aggravated his right hamstring after breaking loose on what could have been a touchdown run in the first quarter. He did not return, but said he did not pull his hamstring. In the fourth quarter, Maurice Jones-Drew limped to the sideline.

"I thought it was a cramp initially or something just grabbing, but it didn't let up," Taylor said of his injury. "Hamstrings are tricky. Sometimes they just spasm, sometimes you can pull them. Thankfully, I did not pull it."

Taylor ran 35 yards before pulling up and limping to the sideline. He tried loosening up his leg by riding a stationary bicycle on the sideline. Team officials first said his return was questionable. He later ran to the locker room, and did not return.

He was replaced by Jones-Drew, who rushed for 98 yards and a score, his 13th of the season. In the fourth quarter, he caught a short pass and ran 37 yards before being tackled by Titans safety Lamont Thompson.

Jones-Drew hopped toward the sideline and fell to the ground before he got there. Teammates pulled him off the field, but he was later seen kneeling on the sideline holding his helmet in hopes of returning.

Jones-Drew was taken for X-rays after the game to check his left leg. Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio did not know after the game what part of Jones-Drew's leg was being X-rayed

Taylor strained his right hamstring last week against Indianapolis. He had nine carries for a season-high 131 yards in the first half but sat out the rest of that game.

On Dec. 17, he had two carries for 37 yards when he hurt himself on the Jaguars' second drive of the game. He said his hamstring was stiff, tight and sore but he wanted to return.

"I spun on the bike, I rewrapped the wrap I had on to apply more pressure to it and tried to stretch it out. It just didn't give," Taylor said.

Jones-Drew had 303 all-purpose yards in the Jaguars' 44-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last week. "

Now, all the Pats have to do (assuming their RBs are banged up) is put on one of their 4 INT games again vs. David Garrard. I think we can do it; just look what the Texans D did to Jax. GO PATS!!

Well, not the preferred way for things to be looking up but Lord knows (wringing hands), we've had at least our share of injuries the past two years. As for the two Jax running backs, Fred is at least a known quantity, but this other guy Jones-Drew is really different. He looks like Dave Meggett or something like that, but he runs more like Barry Sanders. Really fast getting to the hole.

Posting "schadenfreude" (taking joy at someone else's misfortune) is a sure signal to the karma gods. Like for the Jax to have some off the street no-name turn in a HOF RB performance against us.

Seriously, it is way too early in the week to start getting excited cause we might match up against someone with a few injuries to match the Pats own list. Their guys will more than likely be somewhat healthier by next week than they appear today. Healthy enough to play.......??? But it is just bad form to wish ill on the opponent.

This is going to be a "playoff' type game. Both team are going ot come out and punch each other in the mouth. A game like this will be won/lost at the LOS more than a "normal" game.

We need this win to clinch our division. Jax could need this to make the playoffs.

Those players who are banged up and would normally sit one out, will play in this one.

Their defence beat the hell out of Indy and TN. Jag had no offence so this is going to be the most physical game we had.

Their defence is going to beat up our offence lets hope we survive.

No Maurice reminded me before the draft of Kevin Faulk and since then even more and more of a young Kevin. I was hoping he would fall to round three or four for us, as like KF he isn't very big (i.e. tall) but is very muscular for his height and very shifty, a great receiver, but not gamebreaking fast.

I did not wish ill on anyone. Just noting that for once the injury bug might bite someone else worse than us. The scariest guy on that team to me is Jones-Drew, and if there is word out there that he might not be 100%, then I am providing only hopeful speculations (and what else is a message board but that) to my fellow Pats fans.

a lot of teams have tried to play the pats game of injury reports when they play the pats and this could be one of them.
