Wilfork roughing -the passer penalty
I couldnt' get on this site yesterday,I'm sure there have been posts on this call,I couldnt watch or listen to most of the post-gameday shows on the NFL I usually watch, just wondering if this has got much (or any )attention on the more prominent sports tv and radio shows? Calls like this are detrimental to this league,IMO.

Re: Wilfork roughing -the passer penalty
The roughing the passer and interference calls this year really are over the top. I have seen more bad calls than any other year I can remember. I understand protecting QBs from cheap shots, but guys aren't even allowed to touch the QB anymore without getting 15. I wish they would allow some contact with the QB without a flag, or just make it 2 hand touch on him and be done with it. All 3 ( I think only 3) roughing the passer calls in the NE-MIA game were ridiculous, with Wilfork getting a flag for Harrington falling over him as he's lying face down the icing on the cake. As for interference, I'd like to see it a 15 yard penalty, no more spot of the foul stuff. Look at the Chicago game, the Pats almost lost that one due to how many yards in interference calls? To prevent DBs from just pulling guys down when they get burned they could even keep a spot of foul variation for obvious, intentional interference, and have a lesser penalty for incidental. Kind of like they do for hard fouls in hoops, or the 5 vs. 15 yards for facemasks. Sorry about the rant, its just that it really takes away from the game, limiting the good, defensive football I know knowledgeable fans like the people here enjoy in favor of shootouts for the "casual fan."
