Yards after Contact: Maroney #3 RB in the NFL

Interesting article by Kirwan breaking down the true impact performers on both sides of the ball. In yards gained after contact among Rbs, Maroney is #3, even ahead of Tomlinson. Of course, one great skill of a running back is the vision to see holes and avoid contact. If healthy he needs to get the ball more....

Frankly this also speaks of run blocking not being very good. Is there a stat that details when each RB is first hit? If Maroney is that high on the list, I'm wondering if part of it is because he gets hit before the LOS more than other backs. Our OL is ok but the absence of Graham has really hurt the Run Blocking schemes that we run.

Maroney ahead of LT-interesting! Was LT out for awhile though?
Speaking of Maroney and injuries-he's listed as questionable (back). Everyone seemed to be under the impression he had a concussion? Back injuries seem to come back to haunt even the most sedentary of people. Hopefully his back injury is not the haunting kind:confused:
