The Official Keep Up The Positive Morale Thread...
Now for those of you who are complaining about the sloppiness of play the past 2 games (which were both wins by the way) - Lets look at our nemesis the Colts who played decently good football in their 2 losses the past 3 weeks and really had the misfortune (heh-heh) of being outplayed by the other team at the end of those games,True they did not play as well as Dallas or Tennessee who won those games, but no one that I have seen on TV or in the Media said it was 'Sloppy' play by the Colts just better performance by the winning teams late in the game,so who cares whether our WINS were Ugly or not,Its not a beauty contest,Its a football game.
Bottom line is we won those 2 games and if we can get to the Super Bowl playing like this then I don't think anyone will care whether we are looking as good as in the Cincy game earlier in the season or as bad as in the Lions game,Its the final score that matters - True it will be very hard to win against good teams playing like this, but if we somehow do (and we all know BB and Brady almost always find a way to do overcome bad plays in a game) then whos gonna complain? Remember the old saying goes - 'Better To Win Ugly Than To Lose Playing Pretty' - Keep that in mind and move forward to Miami this week >>>>> Bring on the ugly as long as we win - THATS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!! |

Morale is high in Homerville.
Although during the 3rd quarter of last Sundays game many were on their roofs ready to jump. |

Let's not forget that Mr. Rodney Harrison has been out and is coming back. With all due respect to Sanders, think of the pick me up the defense will get when #36 is replaced by #37 :D

Im positive.. Just we cant play like that every week, espically against Miami Jax and Tenn.. and expect to win.. But its still good to be 9-3 rather than 4-8 in Pittsburgh.

The 4-8 in Pittsburgh, is an example of how hard it is to come back after a SB win and why this franchise is so unique. |

I don't know why, but that sentence made me laugh out loud. I think it's the teams chosen there and how lowly I think of them. Regardless, I suspect, as I did with the jet's loss and some of the tough games we had early in the season in our division, that perhaps a lot of the 'sloppiness' is directly related to the opponents defense really stepping it up. I actually think it bodes well for them that they're not blowing everyone out, and that there are manyt hings to improve on. Satisfaction is a dangerous thing. Let's see where things go, but I'm cautiously optimistic that this season could end up being a very special one. Even with a sloppy win or 6. |

Some good points made here. When I was younger, I used to get pissed if we won, but Grogan was awful, or Sam Cunningham didn't run for 100 yards, or Mike Haynes didn't get a pick. Then I realized, as do most smart pro players, stats are for suckers, who cares is we fumble 15 times and Brady throws 7 int's, if we still win, I'm happy. I'll take 7 more games (last 4 regular season and 3 postseason) just like the Bears game, not perfect, but wins.

You have to be happy that this team is good enough to overcome the turnovers and penalties and win the last 2 games. That is reason to be positive. The Pats basically played only 20-minutes of solid football and won the game last week.
Yes this will not get it done on the road against Miami who always gives us fits. Jacksonville who is playing solid football at home this year and Tennesse who will be pulling out all the stops in the last game of the season in front of 60,000 drunk hillbillies on New Years Eve. |

It really is a game of emotion. We certainly haven't peaked yet and we're 9-3.
If we win the next few games by 30 points and come in flat for the playoffs it ain't gonna work either. I'd like to see them work in some of the backups at LB, WR and RB. No way they can coast against Miami based on their history. |
