Re: NFL asks mexicans if they are ready for futbol
Hell,Why Not?...Spread the Love...I do think it would be cool if we could spread the "National" part to include other countries.I wouldnt mind seeing some of those Europeans who dominate in Soccer Don the Pads and toss around the pigskin.See if they are as aggressive and such..

You do realize that we would be the best in the world for several (10-50) years, only be sheer size. |
Re: NFL asks mexicans if they are ready for futbol
Lets face it guys, the only chance we have to keep the players we all come to love is if the salary cap goes up every year. The only way that can happen is if they grow the sport more outside of the US. We have to embrace this.

Re: NFL asks mexicans if they are ready for futbol
Having lived most of my life outside the usa i can tell you off the bat this will not work as americans are big.The meat we eat with all the protein rich diet makes everyone physically dominating.
At 6 3 , 212 lbs i was a monster in school for sheer size .I was alot into sports it was a rarity than a common thing. Second, culturally here physical power is glorified and encouraged as one cane be effectively be very successfull in sports and be rich , not in other coutries where brain power and education is glorified hence it will be a one side game which means no intrest. They want people to watch thats about it with tony romo being the a mexican-american qb. |
Re: NFL asks mexicans if they are ready for futbol
Tony Romo's the first, 4th year, somewhat Mexican, UDA to supplant a 13th year, multi-pro bowl, Superbowl vet who was drafted 1st overall by the coach making the switch; but he sure ain't the first Mexican QB in the NFL.

Re: NFL asks mexicans if they are ready for futbol
If football is anything like soccer in Mexico there won't be many stars coming north. By sheer size (talent pool) Mexico should be a powerhouse in soccer...and yet they are not. Unlike Brazil, Argentina and other countries who recruit talented kids from rich to poor.
Mexico soccer is rife with corruption and it's the rich kids who get to be on the choice teams at early ages. This is why they are a non-factor in soccer and the same will be true in Football. A talented Mexican kid would do well to find his way into the U.S. where all kids from rich to poor get an equal shot at utilizing their talents. If the NFL were to get involved with football academies like baseball has in other countries I am sure we would see some good talent find it's way north...and with a great education to boot. |
