Odd fact: No touchdowns yet for Pats defense or special teams
 

I don't know how significant this is to the overall picture of this team, but our defense has yet to return a fumble or interception to the house this season. Still waiting for a special teams touchdown as well. I wonder when the last time was that neither happened over the course of a full season.

we dont have a playmaker really..Samuel is somewhat but other than that..hmm

What about Colvin? Bruschi and Vrabel are overdue as well. Unfortunately, I don't think we have a punt returner fast enough to take it all the way. Maroney has come close a couple times on kickoffs, but that's about it.

I definately feel lack of team speed on defense is the reason.
We have a big, tough D. Not exceptionally fast though. Also,
shows up on special teams. Can we end the D.Davis and L.Izzo
era? Draft some db's and lb's who can run and hit. Their youth will make the occasional blown assignment. But, I think can help us force some more turnover and help kick-coverage. Not blaming Izzo and Davis for our troubles. Just, think we'd be better served with some youth there. Need to get some db's who can play 16games too. Losing Rodney and Geno forces nickel and dime backs to start. Not helping us get off of the field the last 2 weeks.

Excellent point, perhaps deserving of its own thread. We just don't have the speed, anywhere! That extends to the offense as well. Maroney has good speed but not great (more quick than fast); Jackson may be a little faster but he's never on the field. That's about it.
