Massarotti on Tom's air of superiority
"MINNEAPOLIS - They still were spreading the field late, four or five receivers at a time, and you had to wonder if Tom Brady was smiling beneath that facemask. Not so long ago, Brady must have wondered whether there would ever be nights like this again. Now he wonders what these Patriots could be.
We all do...
Yes, Virginia, the Patriots have a passing game.
And not a moment too soon.
The Patriots threw it all right. They threw it over and over again. Brady completed passes to 10 receivers and hit four of them with touchdown passes, and not a single one of them was named Deion Branch. As best we could tell, no one named David Givens was invited to the party, either.
By the time the Patriots ran for the 10th time in this game, in fact, the outcome had long been decided and Brady had thrown 38 times.
“I don’t think anybody else can do what he did,” Minnesota safety Darren Sharper said. “Brady just drives that ship. You look at the talented players he has around him - there might be other names - but he’s the guy driving the bus.”
