Double Standard when it comes to 'protecting children'

This is a paper released by the Blackwell campaign (he's a pubbie running for Oh Gov) about his opponent Rep T Strickland a dem:

Quote:

Documents Call Strickland's Judgment into Question

COLUMBUS – Gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell today released documents related to Congressman Ted Strickland’s inexcusable lack of judgment for refusing to investigate a congressional and campaign staffer accused of exposing himself to children.

Also, the Blackwell campaign continued to question Strickland’s bizarre refusal to condemn a study by the American Psychological Association (APA) that said adult-child sex could be healthy for children. In 1999, Strickland broke ranks with 355 Republicans and Democrats and joined 12 liberal congressmen casting a “present” vote in protest of a resolution condemning the study. The APA later admitted the study was seriously flawed. However, Strickland has consistently stood by his refusal to condemn the study.

“Strickland owes Ohioans a better explanation and an apology for his irresponsible actions,” Blackwell chair Lara Mastin said. “He refused to condemn despicable behavior and he refused to take action against an employee convicted of exposing himself to children.”

“Mr. Strickland our children need to be protected from those who would prey on them and you refused,” Mastin added. “Why?”

Strickland admitted to employing a man convicted of exposing himself to children on his congressional and campaign staff. When notified of the employee’s misconduct, Strickland failed to conduct a thorough investigation and then ignored the issue. Blackwell has asserted that Strickland’s negligence in the matter showed a blatant disregard for children and families.

Following is a copy of the staffer’s police report, the congressional resolution condemning adult-child sex, Strickland’s comments in protest of the resolution and related news articles.

Here are the criminal records of the Strickland staffer who was convicted of exposing himself to young children: [Document 1] [Document 2] [Document 3]

This behavior by Strickland in emplaying a perv who exposed himself to children is ignored by the media, contrast that with the furor iver Foley sending ovbscene emails to an 18 year old.

If Strickland had been a republican this would be the only story in the news.

I'm sure Strickland also employed Willie Horton, Ted Bundy and the Boston Strangler. Blackwell's getting his ass kicked. Its too bad he can't lose with dignity.

Thanks for proving the point for libs it's all about winning. Right and wrong are irrelevant. Pure hypocracy.

Are you posting negative campaign press releases by Blackwell, patsfans13, or do you have an objective source for this information? I couldn't find your source even with a Google search.

There are more stories, sounds more and more like the old "Naked City" series... this is from a blog.. but there some evidence, not sure if it is credible. This is serious as it covers the actions of a diddling husband, by a wife who destroyed records in her care.

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Co...file_1019.html

A file allegedly suppressed by Congresswoman Heather Wilson (R-NM) has been obtained by RAW STORY

In 1995, just three days into her tenure as Secretary of the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department, Wilson removed a routine working file alleging that her husband had engaged in inappropriate contact with a minor. The file was then transferred to the department's attorney in her own Albuquerque office, where it soon went missing.

At the time, a local investigative news team learned about the swap, but could not confirm certain details of the file. They were not able to recover the document itself.

More than ten years later, RAW STORY has uncovered and confirmed the authenticity of the police incident report believed to be contained in the missing dossier. Filed as a case of child abuse in 1993, it contends that Wilson's husband Jay Hone, an Albuquerque attorney, touched a then-16 year old boy "in a manner that was not welcome."

Charges were never filed against her husband, but Wilson's handling of the affair drew the ire of Bob Schwartz who at the time served as district attorney in Bernalillo County. He described Wilson's actions to the news team as "absolutely inappropriate," citing her "obvious conflict of interest." He also admonished Wilson for not following official procedure for the removal of official documents. "If this file is behind Secretary Wilson's desk," Schwartz said, "then she shouldn't be behind this desk anymore. She should resign."

If there wasn't so much of Blackwell's blood in the water, this would never have come up. btw 4th degree Misdemeanor charges generally cover egregious offenses like spitting on the sidewalk and possessing over-due library books.

Blackwell's shame

If you go to this link with the Blackwell campaign announcement, at teh botom of the page they have links with PDF of the complaint and conviction. This is a matter of public record as is Strickland voting present rather than voting for a resolution condemning the crazy contention that sex between adults and children isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Hopefully the public record is objective enough for you. apparently it doesn't matter to the MSM unless it is a pubbie.

Cool nice liberial response, he probably pleads down so a perv exposing himself to kids is NBD as long as it is a dem. BTW this has nothing to do with Blackwell and his campaign and everything to do with the double standards fo the press and hypocritical libs.
