You be the judge: Brady
You Be the Judge: Brady.
I will focus on this particular drive in the 4th quarter. Keep in mind it's only a small sample of the game: Score: 17-7 Denver Time Start: 5:33 left Time of Possession: 0:26 Plays: 3 Yards: 0 Drive Started: NE 8 Drive Ended: NE 8 How Obtained: Punt How Given Up: Punt 1-10-NE8 (5:33) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass incomplete deep middle to B.Watson. 3-10-NE8 (5:22) (No Huddle, Shotgun) T.Brady pass incomplete short left to D.Gabriel.
Time from snap to release: 3.25 seconds Snap: http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/8817/snapgo4.th.jpg Throw: http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/6352/throwqz5.th.jpg Air: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/5999/airsq9.th.jpg Ball Landing: http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/815/catchcr8.th.jpg ... The Patriots would punt, get the ball back with 3:36 left in the game. Brady would go 7-for-14 on the drive, ending in an incomplete pass on 4th down to Troy Brown. It's now your turn. Who was at fault on these incompletions? The protection? The receivers? The play-calling? The throw? The defense? You be the judge. |
Re: You be the judge: Brady
Can you resize those? I get the point you are making, but it would be easier for me to analyze if they were 50% bigger.

Re: You be the judge: Brady
Either the Receivers ran the wrong route or Brady was just off on his throws.
Some of those guys were wide open though. Maybe Brady is just not seeing the field accurately, because he seemed to throw the ball in their direction. Maybe it's just timing? |

Re: You be the judge: Brady
Wait. In the last example. How can the ball land at 5:16 but be in the air at 5:17?

God am I an idiot. I didn't realize that there were any pictures linked. I was sitting there with my face a few inches from the screen trying to figure out what was on the thumbnails. Anyway, even on the larger pictures linked, I can't tell what is really happening on the first play, but the other two certainly look like there are open receivers. In the second one, the WR looks more open than he is because there is a safety that you can't see in the third frame. However, it definitely looks like there is plenty of room had Brady left the ball more towards the middle of the field. Gabriel looks like he is open on the last play as well. One caveat: All of this presuposes that the receivers were where they were supposed to be on the play. |
