How to bet on the Pat's 2006 record.

I read a thread earlier saying that some place had a bet where you could wager whether a team's record would be over or under a certain number of wins. (Pat's were 10.5, I believe).

I want to take that bet vis the pats. Any tips on how to do it? Do I pay up front and only get paid at the end of the year? Can I trust that I'll get my money if I win? What are the best (safest) places to place the bet. I checked out a Sports Gambling page at about.com and they say it's not illegal anywhere in U.S. True?

Just go to Vegas. Or look up one of the websites of a casino. They may let you put a wager there.

EDIT: I was going to post a website address here where you could do that but the site says it has ceased operations in the USA because of an ongoing court case. SORRY. Besides, I wasn't so sure it would be a good idea to post a website like that in this "family" website.

Pinnacle Sports had their odds up to +130 (for over 10.5 wins) a few weeks ago but its dropped down to +110 now.

I like the play a lot based on the schedule.

Odds to win the SB were also up to +950ish and are now down to +800-something.

Not legal. Many many do it. Difficult to enforce. Overall very low risk.

I did it on mysportsbook.com when it was 10.5 wins. I'm not sure if it still is that low but i think it's a no brainer.

Thanks for responses.

What does +130 mean? If I put up $100 and win, I get $130, yes? Are there any sorts of fees taken out of the $130?

$100 billed to CC today and $230 would go on CC at season's end?

AFAIK it's not illegal to bet at sites that are based overseas. I'm basing that on the fact that the House(not the Senate yet) just passed a law to make it illegal and to force ISP's to block those sites.

Well, it is illegal but it just isn't enforced. And yes I know that most of those sites will gladly tell you it's 100% legal but they are wrong.
