OT: Prisco Begins To Wonder About Manning - Wow

Pete Prisco has been such a Manning idolator for so long. You had to wonder if there could ever be any Manning failures that would ever penetrate his worship.

This looks like a first crack in the fortress. Is Prisco beginning to feel betrayed ?

"Fresh off their disappointing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC playoffs, at home no less, many are starting to wonder if Manning isn't becoming this decade's version of Dan Marino, the guy with the big numbers but no Super Bowl titles. Forget that Manning and Marino are arguably the two greatest passers of all time, none of that matters to a Super Bowl-obsessed fandom."

Love this comparison, as much as my fanatical Dolphin friends with their livesize autograph cutouts of Marino and fading #13 jerseys, nothing will ever compare to the three superbowl victories we have achieved...suspect it is the same for those Colts fans.

Nowhere in the article does Prisco wonder about Manning. He writes that others do and the entire tone of the article is that it is wrong to do so.

You're right about it being focused on others, but he puts the question out there to the readers (like we didn't know it already?) and doesn't make any great arguments against the premise. I read it as skepticism over Manning.
