Critical Opinions may be Foolish

This not to say all are but this little ditty by Belichick should be
food for thought. He's talking about Banta Cain play where the offense
picked up 14 yds!

"``I thought that was one of the best plays of the game that [Banta-Cain] made and it wasn't even his man," Belichick said. ``The way the play unfolded, he kind of saw there wasn't anybody else there where there should have been, and he just hung with him and I'm sure it looked like to anybody watching the play that he got beat on the play. He was pretty competitive, he was right there to make a play on the tackle. Even though the guy made the catch and all that, I thought it was a really heads-up play on his part."

I can just hear some guys maligning Banta-Cain because of that play.

The thought comes to mind ... that ciritizing a player for a bad play here
or there .... is inappropriate as no one except the PATs themselves know
what was suppose to happen.

Now if a guy is consistently doing the same thing I suppose that's different.

Surely you're not suggesting that BB knows more about football than the posters on this forum?

And I apoligize in advance for calling you Shirley

I remember the play. I grumbled about Tully to my Fiance after it did appear that he blew his coverage. I guess we get reminded again and again that what we SEE is not necessarily what is really happening.

With Starks, I guess it was really happening, but on many other plays, what you see is not always what you get.

Yeah, but Remix6 would bring out his KC Joyner book and yell that TBC "gave up" 14 yards on that play - - just another lousy Donnie Edwards!!!!!!!!!!!
