Joe Lieberman to destroy the Democrats .. Again.
Lieberman definitely strikes me as a strict follower of AIPAC, and (as some here know,) I can be pretty sensitive to the anti-Israel/antisemitic borderline (for want of a better turn.)
I don't know about a turncoat though. He's always been pretty center-to-hawkish on foreign affairs - but yes, he's a big fan of backing up this war.
As for the antisemitic sentiment still in this country... covert??? Do you read this board? :blahblah: I do agree that it would be a "minus" in the election to be Jewish, but were he the frontrunner for the Dems I would vote for him regardless, as he would represent the best shot at getting out of the current administration's mess. I think going far-left is the Democrats' worst stumbling block, although by the time we define what far-left is, I would probably agree more with that candidate than with the challenger. Reality is what it is, and I have no desire to vote for purity instead of victory -- I'm too old for that sh**.
Maybe that will change as 2008 gets closer.
