Garrett Mills - One talented dude
Check out this article:
http://asia.news.yahoo.com/051117/ap/d8du6r884.html Part of what it says... Garrett Mills might be the best tight end in college football, but he's been so much more for Tulsa. Mills lines up wide as a receiver, in the backfield as a fullback or on the wing _ and he's able to handle his traditional responsibilities as a tight end. "We just don't put him there with his hand in the ground the whole time," Tulsa offensive coordinator Charlie Stubbs said. Mills is so versatile it's easy to forget he's a tight end, and Tulsa coach Steve Kragthorpe is afraid that costs his best player national attention. The 6-foot-2, 232-pound Mills has yet to be honored in any week by the organization that hands out the Mackey Award, given to the nation's top player at that position at the end of the season. The reason? Probably because he doesn't line up enough at the position. "It's kind of gotten to the point where to me it's very, very frustrating because this guy's a tight end," Kragthorpe said. "Unfortunately, he's probably the most athletic tight end in the country. And, to me, that hurts him? I don't understand that. Because we're creative on offense, it hurts him? I don't understand that |
