Doc Rivers: "Wallace thinking about retiring"

Rivers unsure Wallace 'will ever play again' - Celtics Blog - Boston.com

Quote:

I don't know if Rasheed will ever play again. I think he is thinking about retiring, and I thought you could see that in his play. He was dying out there. When he got the cramps and the strains, he was just trying to figure out a way of staying on the floor.

Being a long-time Pistons fan, he was a key ingredient to their long run of success last decade.

The trade they made for him in 2004 was THE clincher, and were a blown assignment away the year after of repeating.

For the most part, his issues with technical fouls propped up when Flip Saunders was coach(Larry Brown was a no nonsense guy, and did a good job keeping him in-check). Saunders was too layed back - if Brown had stayed, I think we could have won another title or 2(i.e. Saunders got too jump-shot happy deep in the playoffs, alot like he did in Minnesota).
