Richard Seymour: What's the deal?
All the talk about whether or not we should have kept Richard Seymour last season instead of trading him reminded me of something I've been wanting to ask for a while. A few weeks ago I heard he was talking with the Raiders about a new contract. So, he actually wants to stay in Oakland, even though he's no longer under contract?
Are they doing that much better, or does he just not want to relocate again? |
Re: Richard Seymour: What's the deal?
The Raiders applied the exclusive franchise tag to Seymour, so right now he is under contract with them and they are the only team that can negotiate with him.

Because Richard Seymour will go where the money and the situation are best and where he can most easily manipulate ownership, front office and coaching staff.
And since the Raiders are a team in disease from ownership to sidelines, where better for a self-centered punk like Seymour to plant himself? Wait until the Raiders give him four years, and countless sick millions and he "tweaks his hammy" or some other imaginary Big PuSey injury and misses 6 games his first year...won't they be happy? Couldn't happen to a nicer organization! Good...and I do mean GOOD...riddance! |

Dangit Armen, quit beating around the bush and tell us how you feel!
:D I hadn't heard they put the franchise on him, so that puts a whole different spin on it. |

Seymour's a "self-centered punk"?? Is that what we think Brady, Brushchi, McGinest and the rest of the people who actually know the man think of him? God, mix in a clue already.
The man was traded to the most garbage team in the league. Of course he doesnt really want to continue playing out there, but he's caught between a rock and a hard place. Im sure he'll play this season out under that one-year franchise tender, and next year move on to an actual team. |

An uninformed rant is so much more fun and allows me to club the image of Richard Seymour yet again, as he so richly deserves! |

I wish Big Sey well in his contract endeavor
