POLL: What do you think of Condoleeza Rice as Commissioner?
http://post.polls.yahoo.com/quiz/quizresults.php
Question: What do you think of Condi as commish? Thanks for voting! 25664 votes since Mar 25 2006 Good idea 25% 6297 votes Bad idea 75% 19367 votes . |
I'm surprised she got 25% of the vote among football fans!
Thanks for the post mikey - the people have spoken and made their will known. I respect their choice. And I'm sure you do too - just as you would respect the will of the people in any election. The funny thing is, some people have no principals and only selectively respect elections when they agree with the outcome. Don't you hate people like that with no morals or principals? |
I would never vote for a female comissioner of an all male sport.

A stupid poll anyway. She has said repeatedly all week that she is not a candidate.
Another example of the news media making up news where there is no news. |
Didn't this all come about by her just talking about her dream job?? Somehow the bored press has run with a very mundane comment to a major talking point. Not sure she has the knowledge or interest, this is a pretty intense job for someone who is not immersed in the NFL culture.

The most important thing that the NFL has going for it -- the thing that would blow the ship out of the water if they lost it -- is its anti-trust exemption. And that is a political benefit. So, if keeping it is the first priority, it argues that a politically savvy commissioner would be very valuable.
I think that Condoleezza Rice would most likely be a formidable Commissioner (like her or not, she hasn't done a job in her life she didn't master) but her partisan identification would be a big disadvantage. |
