Trading up: who?
I know that this is idiotic; the Patriots rarely trade up and it especially does not make sense in this year's draft but let's be a little silly on this one...
If the Patriots decide to trade up, say ten picks, in the first round, who would they take? My vote would be Joe Haden, CB. A shutdown corner frees up an extra guy to blitz; this is how Rex Ryan can get away with it. I know that all you guys have some full-length-fur-coat-wearing, strip-club-attending, prima donna big wide receiver in mind, but a shutdown CB is more valuable. Or a pass rusher for that matter. Note: I have to confess that Ty Law had a full-length fur coat....and he is one of my favorite players; the Patriots have never been able to replace his sticky hands in the secondary. Haden would and then some. 8 int's last year I believe. |

You preface your post with a statement that it is 'idiotic' yet you still find the need to do it?
You don't have to make a post about every little insignificant thought that passes though your head. |

( I think BB would like a late 2, 3 and 5 for his first round pick at #22 ). |

It makes little sense to draft up this year when the Patriots have so many holes and it is such a deep draft, but if they did who would they target? Haden instantly gives the Patriots a defense that can send extra guys; it won't happen but it is fun to speculate. |

Re: Trading up: who?
They probably won't be afforded the opportunity to trade down because teams are aware that there is no value in trading up with such a preponderance of similar talent at the end of the 1st. Unless some guy with a high grade slides a bit, I don't see it happening.

Re: Trading up: who?
I can't see moving up for anyone at this point.....would have been mcclain if not for his medical condition........beyond that, there are guys who will be there in the 2nd round who stand to be just as effective as guys who are picked in the 1st.......

Re: Trading up: who?
God I hope they don't trade down their first rounder. I would NOT be happy. They should just take the guy they like "cough" Jared Odrick "cough" and move on. If there was one pick I wouldn't mind seeing them trade, it would be their original 2nd rounder. For a third and a fourth, I would have no problem with that.
