How far under the cap are we now?

ESPNews reports the salary cap for the 2006 season will be set at $104 million. The free agency period will start at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, March 10.

Yet Chris Mortenson is reporting it will be $102 million now.

Either way... how far under are we?

Ask Patswickedpissah, he knows but he's not telling me. See the Dazed and Confused thread.

Maybe he'll tell you if you post some good photo's on the cheerleader thread.

Miguel will come up with the exact number later I'm sure, but from memory of other threads, plus the Mcginest cut, I figure the Pat's are somewhere around $85-7 million so they are around $15-17mil under the new cap. Plus, don't froget about the Hawkins 2yr deal, it must have some money up front.

I have the Pats at 16.1 million under the cap.

My numbers for the Pats presume the following.

1.) Light's 2.6 million LTBE incentive no longer exists.
2.) Gorin's 700,000 LTBE incentive no longer exists.
3.) Hochstein's 500,000 LTBE incentive no longer exists
4.) the Pats made tender offers to all 5 of the ERFAs.
5.) Seymour's $3 million salary decrease was offset by a roster bonus
