What should the President do? (See message body below.)
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/...n1301595.shtml
Former disaster agency chief Michael Brown is indicating he is ready to reveal his correspondence with President Bush and other officials during Hurricane Katrina unless the White House forbids it and offers legal support. Sources within the U.S. Senate released documents to CBS News Wednesday that include a devastating assessment of the Federal Emergency Management Agency conducted at Brown's request in March 2005. The study, done by the MITRE Corp., showed FEMA to be totally dysfunctional, reports CBS News correspondent Mary Hager. ... "Unless there is specific direction otherwise from the president, including an assurance the president will provide a legal defense to Mr. Brown if he refuses to testify as to these matters, Mr. Brown will testify if asked about particular communications," (Brown's) lawyer wrote. Brown's desire "is that all facts be made public." |
The truth shall set you free. Let the info fly.

They should let LTG Honore do the investigation, that guy rocked.

The high road is to tell him to tell the truth, somehow I have to believe there will a whole host of others involved i.e. Rove and crew. I for one would like to know the actual truth of what happened.

I like the guy who voted for "keep quiet" but then didn't even defend their position. Silly, immature forum users.

It was me. I misunderstood the question. I think he will ask Brown to keep his piehole shut, but I think he SHOULD reveal everything. It will not be pretty. Brown will have to explain why he turned away water trucks and fuel, why he sat and ate dinner at a fine restaurant while people were suffering, why no staging areas were prepared, why he utterly failed the people of New Orleans, why he was appointed to begin with even though he was completely in over his head and nowhere near qualified for the job.
I must be suffering from outrage fatigue. My bad. :bricks: |
