To all of the coaches on this forum...

You only have 45 players to play with on game day ... you cannot rest everyone.

If any receiver was going to sit is was going to be RM so stop with the "I can't believe Welker was playing nonsense"

It was a bad fluke injury, he could of slipped and torn his acl walking through the tunnel onto the field. If its bound to happen its going to happen, no matter where or what your doing.

I disagree. Welker takes more of a beating than any other skill player on our team. A few days ago, I said I hoped to see Hoyer and Edelman start in place of Brady and Welker. With that said, I don't get paid the big bucks to make these decisions.

Whether or not he should have or shouldn't have played is irrelevant now. Let's all hope that Edelman can take a big step up the next (hopefully) four games.

You know what? Even after the injury, I still think Belichick did the right thing starting Brady, Moss, and Welker. I don't know if I would have played them all game or as much as Brady and Moss played, but sitting them could do more damage to them for the playoffs than playing them.

I think the bye week is counterproductive other than the fact that you play one less game to get to the Super Bowl. If you still had to play as many games with the bye week in the playoffs, I am sure many coaches including Belichick would not want the one or two seed.

Since the team was resting players, Welker shouldn't have been playing. He's the receiver who takes the most, and biggest, hits, and his 'backup' Edelman could have used the snaps.

Rarely if ever do healthy players not play at least the first series in games like this. Even the Colts had their healthy players in there today, and they are the standard for resting players.
