Can you imagine an NFL strike? It gives me the shivers just imagining no football.

The union and Gene Upshaw, in particular, has been criticized for not looking out for the players as the union has in baseball.

I have been concerned the union would take a hardline stance with the owners particularly regarding guaranteed contracts.

And no I cannot imagine the fall without football.

Ha, ha, ha, ha...I thought you said, "no football".

Look at the mess that guaranteed contracts have made of MLB and the NBA. They make players lazy and insubordinate. I hope we never see them in the NFL.

I love the game of baseball, but I can't stand MLB. I don't know if I could stand it if the NFL went to that type of system.

Amen re guaranteed contracts....

They would do irreparable harm to the league...

I've followed the Patriots assiduously since inception. Should they adopt a paradigm like the NBA or MLB, I walk away. No way I invest my time and emotion in a complete revolving door team in a league dominated by teams owned by multi-billionaires like Paul Allen who could by rings.

Krafty Bob would be able to buy rings also. He's got one of the best revenue streams in the league.

They definately need to get this done, fairly for both the players and the teams, or it's appeal will decline rapidly.

I don't think they know how fragile a situation they are dealing with...they want all the gold..the gold they have ahd and more..and they may end up with so much less....I agree..if football goes the way of the NBA and MLB...in time, those attendances will dwindle..those rating will go down..and maybe more will turn to college football....something a bit purer...Hmmmm
